Why I read

I read for many reasons. The main type of reading that I enjoy doing is reading for pleasure. I enjoy reading when I am really interested in the book and want to know what happens. Reading brings you into another world and keeps you occupied for how ever long it will take you to read the book. I read to entertain myself at the beach or the pool a lot of the time. I read when I am bored and am looking for something to do. The types of books that I enjoy is suspense and mystery, it keeps me turning the page and wanting to finish the book. I started reading when I was a kindergartener or younger. I've always been a reader and I still enjoy it. When I was a kid, my parents would make me read 30 minutes a day, and that's why I think I enjoy it more than some other people who weren't required to do that. I like reading because it isn't only entertaining, but it educates you while you do it. Reading increases your vocabulary and that also is a reason why I read. I enjoy reading more than watching TV  because it is much more interesting and I think its a good way to pass time.
