Book Four Review
Dear Tina Fey,
I really enjoy your most recent book
that came out, just looking at the cover is already something to laugh at.
As a consumer of your book, I was very skeptical that it would be
"actually funny", the reason being because not many books, even ones
that were supposed to make me laugh, did not make me laugh. There is an
exception of course, your book! As soon as I opened your book, I had cracked a
smile at the first paragraph.
I believe you are as famous
as you are and as funny as you are, simply because of your humor,
The way you describe things and the way you put things into perspective,
can make anyone laugh. One thing I found particularly found funny, was when you
were talking about the female makeup. You are a very likable person, not
because you are famous, but because you are not a typical celebrity. You are
quirky and accept that you have flaws while others pretend they don't. Talking
about how you tried to talk to boys but none would talk to you because of the
way you looked is not particularly funny but the way you explain it is
hilarious. I’m sure back when you were seventeen or eighteen years old it wasn’t
funny, you probably had some hurt feelings. The thing is, you can go back and
make fun of yourself, which is a great trait to obtain. Not many people can
take something that hurt them in the past and make it into basically making fun
of yourself, for thousands, and maybe millions to read about. Not only that,
but your stories can relate to anyone basically, which is what readers enjoy,
something to relate to their own experiences.
From reading your
books, you can see your personality very clearly. You are down to earth and
funny, which is what everyone likes. You are not a fake, make up loaded
celebrity just looking to get more cash in your pockets, you seem to genuinely
like what you do for a living and care. Based on what I am learning about in
best sellers, you seem to be a very “likable character”. Not just because of
your work, but because of who you are and how you portray yourself to the
media. There are never any scandalous headlines made about you, or any rumors.
Kim Kardashian, famous for nothing makes millions, but no one likes her. You
work hard for your money and many people like you. A lot about what a person
does affects others too. I believe that you are very likable, for many reasons
but that is just a couple reasons.
When you explain your child hood, you were a
normal girl who lived in New Jersey. In the first chapter, you explain how your
dad was an amazing person many people liked, but you also shared how he got
angry and the mistakes you made too. You were a normal girl, in a normal
neighborhood, with a normal family just living your life. Many celebrities have
a false sense of reality of what life is supposed to be about, because they
grew up that way. It is also nice to read your book and you aren’t complaining
about how you got a $1,899,567 house instead of a $2,456,789 mansion, that is
what I like about you, you are normal, relatable and just outright funny to
your audience.
Sincerely,
Morgan S. McGahan

Book 3 Listicle
In the book "A Dog's Purpose", it is written in the perspective of a dog, and it really makes you think, is this really how a dog would think? I for one, would say Cameron gives a fairly realistic depiction of Baileys (The dogs) voice and character. Here are 4 reasons why a dog, really is a mans best friend...
#1) Dogs will never leave your side.
Dogs will never leave your side, no matter how many times they get yelled at or scolded, they'll be right there with you. When Ethan, the little boy, wanders out into the woods with Bailey, he finds himself lost for two days, while he is out there, his horse abandons him, but Bailey stays with him the whole time. Bailey makes sure to keep Ethan warm at night and makes sure that he isn't in any trouble. A dog will make sure you always feel happy and if you aren't they will try to make you feel better.
#2) Dogs can teach life lessons.
A dog can share the greatest of lessons with its owner, humans and animals can both learn from each other. When Bailey is home alone while Ethan is at school and two parents are out at work, he strays from the house, and finds himself in another house. While he is in that house, a boy tries to do harm to the dog, and keep him captive. Eventually Bailey escapes, but his mistakes show us readers a lesson. To use judgment, to not get into situations that may cause you harm.
#3) A dog will provide you a friendship as long as they're alive.
No matter what is going on in your life, a dog will always be a shoulder to cry on, or someone to share laughter with. At night when Bailey has to go to bed, he stays in a crate in the garage. One night Bailey was feeling afraid so he went down and laid in the crate with Bailey. Bailey sensed his fear and laid right next to him, in hopes of easing Ethan's fear. With that being said, Bailey did just that and eventually earned the spot back next to Ethan on his bed.
#4) A dog will protect you with all they have.
While at his grandparents house in the country, the adults leave Bailey and Ethan by themselves for a night. In the middle of the night Ethan thinks he hears a noise like someone has intruded the house, Bailey gets up and searches the house, and eventually ends up finding no one. That night Bailey and Ethan end up sleeping side by side, with a baseball bat and gun by their sides, watching out for each other.
In the end, you can see a dog is a great companion to us humans. They provide us with care and comfort when no one else seems to be there. A dog is someone to be grateful for, they are like humans, except nicer.

Blog 5 Post
I believe that in non-fiction, the most important thing to not forget, is to keep the big main concepts and add a few minor things. For example, in movies about war, such as Valkyrie, the director keeps the big concepts. He does not change the fact that Hitler was the leader and Jews were the target. A few change ups isn't a big deal, because everyone really knows what happened, people go mostly for the entertainment standpoint of the movie. With that being said, I don't think it would be right to change the whole story line and in a way, change the way history is seen. I believe that the way Hollywood makes movies dramatized, could potentially give wrong information about the actual event, which could end up misleading a couple.
I believe we do need lines in between fiction and non-fiction, without those lines, how would one know the difference between true events and others that were simply made up? Without the line, I believe that waters could be contaminated with false information and bias from all the different opinions. When 9/11 happened, there were many conspiracy theories and false information, made up by ordinary people. If someone were to make a book on how the government was in on 9/11 and they planned it and there was no fact or fiction border, no one would know what to believe. Non- Fiction and Fiction are a very important label in the world, and keep the facts but can make history a lot more interesting with a few tweaked parts, calling it fiction.
