Book 3 Listicle

In the book "A Dog's Purpose", it is written in the perspective of a dog, and it really makes you think, is this really how a dog would think? I for one, would say Cameron gives a fairly realistic depiction of Baileys (The dogs) voice and character. Here are 4 reasons why a dog, really is a mans best friend...

#1) Dogs will never leave your side.
Dogs will never leave your side, no matter how many times they get yelled at or scolded, they'll be right there with you. When Ethan, the little boy, wanders out into the woods with Bailey, he finds himself lost for two days, while he is out there, his horse abandons him, but Bailey stays with him the whole time. Bailey makes sure to keep Ethan warm at night and makes sure that he isn't in any trouble. A dog will make sure you always feel happy and if you aren't they will try to make you feel better.

#2) Dogs can teach life lessons.
A dog can share the greatest of lessons with its owner, humans and animals can both learn from each other. When Bailey is home alone while Ethan is at school and two parents are out at work, he strays from the house, and finds himself in another house. While he is in that house, a boy tries to do harm to the dog, and keep him captive. Eventually Bailey escapes, but his mistakes show us readers a lesson. To use judgment, to not get into situations that may cause you harm.

#3) A dog will provide you a friendship as long as they're alive.
No matter what is going on in your life, a dog will always be a shoulder to cry on, or someone to share laughter with. At night when Bailey has to go to bed, he stays in a crate in the garage. One night Bailey was feeling afraid so he went down and laid in the crate with Bailey. Bailey sensed his fear and laid right next to him, in hopes of easing Ethan's fear. With that being said, Bailey did just that and eventually earned the spot back next to Ethan on his bed.

#4) A dog will protect you with all they have.
While at his grandparents house in the country, the adults leave Bailey and Ethan by themselves for a night. In the middle of the night Ethan thinks he hears a noise like someone has intruded the house, Bailey gets up and searches the house, and eventually ends up finding no one. That night Bailey and Ethan end up sleeping side by side, with a baseball bat and gun by their sides, watching out for each other.

In the end, you can see a dog is a great companion to us humans. They provide us with care and comfort when no one else seems to be there. A dog is someone to be grateful for, they are like humans, except nicer.
